BODY WORK

Alongside my teaching, I have studied a number of complimentary therapies that can help many people, with many conditions.
I am fully qualified to practice thai yoga massage and remedial massage.
Please read below to learn more about the benefits of these practices, and get in touch to discuss how these may help you.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Thai Massage is ideal for anyone, regardless of their age, state of health or level of flexibility, and is one of the few types of massage that can be carried out during pregnancy.

Massage is one of the three main branches of the ancient Thai Medical system, which is based upon the ancient belief that life force (prana) circulates around the body in ten main pathways (energy lines).

Blockages along these pathways result in pain, or disease on both a physical and emotional level. Thai Massage works to stimulate, open and balance the flow of energy through the lines to assist the body in its natural tendency towards self-healing and harmony. This is achieved through rhythmic acupressure; mobilisation of joints; passive stretches and applied Yoga-like stretches.

The receiver can expect to feel very relaxed and energised at the end of a session. You have a sense of balance, and a fresh flow of energy running throughout the body.

Thai Massage has been proven to treat a huge array of physical, mental and emotional imbalances and issues, including, M.S, Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, and sport related injury.

I am fully qualified and insured member of the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Association, and have trained both at practitioner, and advanced levels with the UK’s foremost teacher training school.

Thai Massage is given on a futon, and the receiver is fully clothed. There are no oils used during a Thai Massage session.

REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial Massage is ideal for the relief and prevention of musculo-skeletal injuries or conditions, whether through sport, occupation, postural problems, or a specific trauma. Treatment of the soft and connective tissues of the body, lead to the relief of acute or chronic muscular pain, increasing joint mobility, and an improvement to circulation.

This has been proven to be very effective for many people of all abilities. I have several professional athletes who benefit from this treatment, including premiership footballers and professional dancers.

Equally, Remedial massage is able to treat a range of conditions including, Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, and sports related injury.

I am a fully qualified and insured remedial massage and manipulative therapist (Dip RM MSM). I hold full membership with the National association of massage and manipulative therapists, (NAMMT)

The session is given on a massage couch, where oil is sometimes used.
